In 2024, I had the privilege of meeting a remarkable young woman named Khungezwa Mgidi. At a time when youth unemployment continues to rise across South Africa, Khungezwa has found a practical and empowering way to fight back by making money online. Her journey is proof that with the right tools, mindset, and consistency, there is hope for young people seeking financial freedom in the digital world.

Khungezwa’s journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many others, she was searching for ways to earn a living from home without needing to invest money she didn’t have. While doing research, she came across a YouTube video by BA Pusha. It opened her eyes to online opportunities like surveys and small tasks that could be done using only a smartphone and some mobile data.

At first, she was skeptical. She worried that many of the sites might be scams or not pay out. But her determination led her to test platforms herself and focus on ones with good reviews and solid reputations. Her first experience was with a platform called M4JAM. It was easy to sign up, and most importantly, it didn’t require any upfront payments.

What helped her most at the beginning was learning from others. She joined online communities, took tips from YouTubers, and paid close attention to platforms that had already been tested by others. She was careful to avoid anything that looked too good to be true or asked for money upfront.

When asked whether it required any investment, Khungezwa kept it real. She said it didn’t need anything fancy. Just a smartphone, data, and a lot of patience. Through trial and error, she learned how different platforms work and how to make the most out of each one. Over time, she began earning over a thousand rand per month depending on her consistency and effort. While it’s not her main income, it has become a valuable stream of extra cash. It has helped her with personal projects and even supported her family.

One of the biggest challenges she faced was figuring out which apps actually paid. She pushed through by testing platforms herself and sticking to the ones that proved reliable. Her proudest achievement so far is being able to contribute to her family’s needs while gaining financial confidence.

For anyone looking to start, her advice is straightforward. Start small. Stick to trusted platforms like M4JAM. Be patient and stay consistent. Don’t be discouraged by small earnings in the beginning. They build up. Also, avoid any platform that asks for money upfront or seems too good to be true. Do your homework first.

Interestingly, Khungezwa prefers not to recommend specific platforms outright. She believes success depends on what you enjoy doing and how consistent you are. However, she does share detailed insights on how different platforms work through her Facebook page, where she guides others who want to follow a similar path.

Looking ahead, she’s exploring other digital opportunities like freelance work, selling digital products, and affiliate marketing. Her focus now is on building her online presence and helping others earn with integrity.
